If you’re a gadget lover, then you probably love multi-functional tools. Let’s face it, we love to get big bang for our tech bucks. But when it comes to multi-functional smart phone items, the list seems to be short and the useful functionality is often hit and miss. The ChargeDrive, a Kickstarter project by Idris Sunmola, hopes to be one of the exceptions to that observation. The ChargeDrive is multi-purpose smart phone device that is advertised to be a charging cable, a flash drive, and a tripod mount. One neat thing about the ChargeDrive design is that it can actually be used as a standalone tripod for a smart phone. Although I could not find any actual dimensions on this device, it does look small/portable, and being made out of plastic, it should be rather light in weight. The ChargeDrive has 16 GB of memory and is compatible with Apple, Android, Blackberry, and Windows phones. The ChargeDrive also has a NanoSuction plate (micro-suction adaptor) that can be screwed into the 1/4, 20 thread tripod adapter hole to add more versatility. The ChargeDrive has many colors and funding levels, with a $39 pledge getting you a ChargeDrive in black, white, or red. The ChargeDrive is seeking funding until December 9, 2013; if funded, it will start shipping in January 2014.
