ghostbusters-feat-2

If the movie “Ghostbusters” were made today, this is probably how it’d look like — futuristic, sleek, and lots of J.J. Abrams’ signature lens flares. Seriously, if this was made into a movie, shut up and take my money! Designed by concept artist Frédéric Le Martelot from France. What do you think of the concept? Should the movie be made?

Buying Textbooks? Chegg And Textbooks.com Should Be Your First Stops

textbooks

One of the worst kept secrets among students is that school bookstores overcharge for textbooks. If you attend university, you’ve no doubt encountered this fact, and maybe at some point you’ve even bought a book at the unreasonable price offered directly by the school. But why would anyone do that when plenty of websites out there will sell or rent the very same book for a fraction of the price? Two of the most used sites for getting textbooks (besides Amazon, of course) are Chegg and Textbooks.com, but which should you use for your next college textbook buying excursion? Well,...

3 Free PC Games That Took Off In 2013 That You Should Play

Neverwinter

2013 was a huge year for online gaming. It was probably the year that I spent the most of my available time with games by sitting in front of my PC. I’ve always been a fan of the PC platform, and it’s really beginning to shine over consoles, in my opinion at least. There were many games that reached the surface last year, but I feel like there are three that really shined over the rest. These games are free, very popular, and extremely addicting. 2013 was a breakout year for these games, and I really think they’ll hold strong...

Champagne headphones on a beer budget

Status Audio HD One

If you’re a fan of those mega-popular headphones that are endorsed by mega-stars, understand that you are adding mega-bucks to their mega-bank accounts. They aren’t lending their names to promote a headphone for free and the headphone company certainly isn’t paying for it; you are. It’s hidden in the cost. Okay then, what if you desire a pair of those headphones and the status they offer, but can’t afford them? Well, now you can have the status without the brand name with the new Status Audio HD One Headphones. The style is visually similar to the more famous headphones, but contain no logos or branding. Plus, they maintain the performance and features of headphones costing double, triple, and even quadruple their price, claims Status Audio. They’re coated in a rubberized finish as opposed to shiny plastic, have 40mm drivers and a flat, detachable, tangle-free cable with in-line mac with 3-button remote. The on-ear HD One is foldable and comes in three colors: Red (Marathon), Black (Jet Black) and Black with red trim (Classic). The Status Audio HD One headphones sell for an affordable $40 and will be available May 1, 2014.

Fairphone Review and Giveaway

fairphone-feat

The Fairphone was quietly put on pre-order last year for an initial European-only run of 25,000 units. It promised to break the cycle of exploitative manufacturing processes, make pricing transparent, and focus on user features rather than planned obsolescence of most consumer electronics. At €325 (around $450) off-plan, it’s about the same price as a Nexus 5 in the UK (we have silly taxes, remember). Is it any good though? To find out, we paid for one. Now that we’re done with our review, we’re giving it away to a lucky reader! Putting Social Values First I must admit, this...
